Yasmine Arrington (LearnServe Fellow ’10 and LearnServe Zambia ’10) was selected the 2011 recipient of the $25,000 Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation annual scholarship.

Yasmine, a senior at Benjamin Banneker Academic High School, is founder of ScholarCHIPS, which awards college scholarships to children of incarcerated parents.  In addition to Yasmine’s scholarship, Redskins owner Dan Snyder offered to match the $5,000 already raised by ScholarCHIPS.

Congratulations to LearnServe Fellows’ Program alum Mary Sun (’11) who was selected a winner of the 2011 Alexander Hamilton Citizen Achievement Award.  She will receive a $500 cash scholarship, and participation in the Hamilton Leaders Academy.
