After a long day of travel on Saturday the teachers allowed us to have a day of rest and relaxation. We began the day by sleeping in and having a nice breakfast at around ten o’clock. Since I decided to sleep in instead of going downstairs earlier to eat, I was still full of energy for the day!
As usual the teachers called a meeting in the conference room on the top floor of the Hotel Chaco so we could discuss our plans for the rest of the day and the rest of the week. The meeting consisted of listening to rules and regulations, what we enjoyed so far on the trip, what we should expect in the future regarding our host families, and concluding with appreciations. To be honest I was a little nervous about starting all over again, but it would be an adventure.
Before getting dressed up for dinner that night, we went to the shopping mall and had a chance to get some lunch. After we returned some of us used the pool, and I watched España win the Euro Cup for the second time in a row. Seeing my favorite team win a huge tournament made my afternoon. Finally the time for dinner with the San José and Santa Ana kids arrived. One by one the guests started to arrive, and everyone got seated at their respective tables. By the end of dinner everyone had grown very accustomed to each other, which was very relieving.
I would say that overall the day was a huge success. It was certainly another precious memory that everyone will keep in their minds forever.
