You are Invited to Serve as a Virtual Volunteer Reviewer!

Please help judge, celebrate, and launch the amazing social ventures created by our 2020 Cohort of LearnServe Fellows!

About the LearnServe Virtual Change Fest

A consumer awareness campaign calling attention to fast fashion.  Creating safe spaces for LGBTQ youth.  A lending “library” for everyday household appliances.

Join us for the 2020 Virtual LearnServe Change Fest on Thursday evening, April 30th, to meet the high school students behind each of these dynamic new ideas — and many more.

The LearnServe Fellows Program equips students from more than 30 high schools — public, charter, and independent schools across DC, Maryland, and Virginia — with the tools and experience to design and launch their own social ventures!

Curious what this looks like in practice?  Here are highlights from the 2018 LearnServe students’ capstone pitches.

About the Virtual Volunteer Reviewer Roles:

Reviewers serve in one of two capacities: As a virtual panelist the night of or as virtual judge providing feedback on venture material the week before the live event. More details below!

1.  Virtual Panelist

As a Virtual Panelist you will choose a Panel Shift and join a live online 1.5-hour Pitch and Q&A session with 4 Venture Teams on April 30th. To serve on a Virtual Panel you will need access to the internet and have the ability to video call into the panel using Zoom during your time slot.

Panel Shifts ‒ Thursday, April 30th, 2020

Panel Shift 1
4:30 – 6:00 pm
OR
Panel Shift 2
6:00 – 7:30 pm

2.  Virtual Judge;

As a Virtual Judge you do not need to be available on April 30th. Instead, you will be sent 4 student business proposals and a 1-minute recorded pitch, and you will have one week to submit your feedback.

Each year our students share that conversations with reviewers like you — accomplished entrepreneurs, professionals, and non-profit leaders — offer insightful recommendations to help their ideas take off.

We will share additional details on your role, and our reviewer orientation webinars via email. If you are available and interested in either of these roles, make sure you register below!
  RSVP online here.
