We welcome you to our community of DC area leaders, entrepreneurs, changemakers, teachers, students, and families invested in youth-led social innovation. Help us empower young people to take action on the issues that matter to them most and become a part of a tight-knit volunteer & staff community! **Please note, all volunteer opportunities will be virtual until it is safe to do otherwise.

Volunteer Mentors provide support to students by adding unique perspectives, experience, energy, and thought to student ventures. Venture Mentors will have the option of volunteering with:

  1. The LearnServe Fellows Program
  2. The LearnServe Incubator Program

Volunteer Mentors in the Incubator Program get paired with 1-2 LearnServe mentees, and they will work with them throughout the year. Mentors are expected to attend every mentor session, as well as to connect with their mentee once a month separately. This is a perfect opportunity for volunteers who want to bond further with students and get deeply involved in a student venture project. There will be approximately 6 sessions, and you will be expected to attend all sessions. Incubator mentor sessions run on Tuesdays between 5:30 - 6:30pm. 

Time Commitment: 3-5 hrs/month

3. Mentor the Youth Advisory Board! + Click here

This is a *new* mentoring opportunity only available to LearnServe Alum between the ages of 19 and 28. The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a new form of LearnServe Leadership and will act at the student liasion for all LearnServe strategy and program decisions. As a YAB mentor, you will get paired with 1-2 students and advice them throughout. This is a low commitment option with an expected 1-2 hours required per month. This is a perfect opportunity for any LearnServe alum who wanted to get back involved and give back to the organization.

Time Commitment: 1-2 hrs/month

Become a BOARDROOM CHAMPION! Is your company interested in empowering youth in the Washington, DC area to tackle social challenges at home and abroad? Boardroom Champions host pitch practice workshops for advanced LearnServe students in your boardroom.

Our Boardroom Champions help ease students into the corporate environment, offer feedback on their venture pitches, and introduce career possibilities that they might not have imagined.
