Calling all youth changemakers! On this page, you’ll find a list of external resources and opportunities to help you act with intention and engage the world in your impact beyond LearnServe programs. These resources are a compliment to our social entrepreneurship training and global education initiatives. LearnServe staff update this list periodically.

“Hi All! I am the Director of Wellbeing at LOG OFF, a teen-led international organization that promotes healthy usage of social media and technology. I created a Wellbeing initiative that offers many fun opportunities for teens to practice digital wellbeing.

We the Young People – Teen Inauguration Special

“In the aftermath of a divisive American election, PBS NewsHour and Student Reporting Labs presented a half-hour special for digital and broadcast distribution highlighting the impact of young voters and exploring the change they want to see from the new White House administration. Premiering ahead of President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration, the show was hosted by Amna Nawaz and featured teen voices and youth-selected topics designed to connect with new audiences and deepen conversations about the most pressing issues of 2020 and 2021.”

#Rebuild100 from Peace First

“#Rebuild100 is a Peace First campaign to support, mentor, connect and fund social action projects led by students, organizers, influencers, artists and changemakers between the ages of 13 and 25 in the first 100 days of the Biden administration. And in the first 100 days, Peace First is putting up to $10,000 directly in the hands of young people across America.”

Deadline: Submissions reviewed on a rolling basis, until April 30, 2021.

Action for Nature: Young Eco-Hero Awards

“Action For Nature (AFN), a non-profit organization, created the International Young Eco-Hero Awards to recognize and reward the successful individual environmental initiatives of young people ages 8 to 16. AFN encourages young people around the world to carry out individual environmental action projects. We believe that young people can have a positive impact on the environment and are vital in changing the way we live on our planet.”

Heartwarming Young Heroes Grants

“Youth Service America (YSA) is searching for Heartwarming Young Heroes with creative ideas to foster meaningful connections, promote inclusion and teach empathy. With support from Hershey’s Heartwarming Project, YSA will award up to $50,000 in $100, $250, and $500 grants for youth-led service projects and community-building activities during Global Youth Service Day (April 23-25, 2021). All youth ages 5-25 in the United States are eligible to apply.”

Riley’s Way Call for Kindness

“The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes celebrates inspiring, public-spirited young people from diverse backgrounds all across North America. Power of Youth Challenge: Youth Leading Racial Healing

“The Power of Youth Challenge: Youth Leading Racial Healing is a leadership and service opportunity supporting youth-designed projects that promote racial equity and address systemic racism. The Challenge provides  young people (ages 13-19) across the U.S. with the opportunity to identify a need in their communities related to racial healing and apply for a $250 grant to support a (COVID-safe) service project. ”
